The South West has become a magnet for exciting, independent cooking, and this year’s Good Food Guide 100 Best Local Restaurants shines a light on the region’s impressive mix of ambitious chefs, thoughtful menus and distinctive dining spots.
Among the restaurants recognised, Edie’s brings contemporary European cooking to Carlyon Bay in St Austell, while The Lost Kitchen in Chettiscombe, Devon, makes the most of its rural setting with seasonal, wood-fired cooking. From countryside to coastline, the South West’s winners demonstrate just how much there is to discover beyond the region’s better-known food destinations. Read on for the full round-up.
