Best Local Restaurant in the
North West 2025
Lupo
Prestwich, Greater Manchester
‘You’re made to feel part of the family’
This homely little Italian trattoria, hidden in an unlikely corner of a Prestwich industrial estate, has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2014, offering an authentic and downright delicious taste of Rome. ‘You’re made to feel part of the family,’ said one loyal local, with dozens of nominations highlighting the ‘great value for money’ and ‘amazing atmosphere’.
Barista-cum-baker owner Nico Pasquali reflected on what the award represents:
‘It means that people value what we have been building for the last ten years, that perseverance, hard work and love pays’.
Best Local Restaurants in the North West 2025
And the rest of the North West? Ex-teacher Renuka Morris’s idiosyncratic Indian, Â Sé Anar, in Blackpool makes the list for a second year running while support floods in for Bar San Juan, the ‘jewel in the crown of Chorlton’ and a slice of Murcian sunshine even on Manchester’s rainiest days. In Stockport, newcomer Cantaloupe shines brightly with contemporary Mediterranean flavours and one of the best wine lists in the region – a promising sign of revival in the worn-out town centre.
