Great British Menu star Kirk Haworth has opened his first solo restaurant in East London. The plant-based tasting menu spot will showcase some of the dishes that saw the chef crowned 'Champion of Champions' in the show.

Albert’s Schloss

Alpine-inspired Albert’s Schloss have opened their first London venue in Soho this summer, bringing their Bavarian beer hall and European menu to the capital.

Ardor

This debut restaurant from Dorian Janmaat, a Dutch-born, Spanish-raised chef who spent five years as head chef of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, joins Good Food Guide gems like St Eia and Source Kitchen in St Ives. The menu of small plates will blend Cornish produce with Andalusian influences.

The Exceptional-rated Osip will reopen in its new location just outside of Bruton this summer. The new space is bigger than the previous site and will also have a garden and bedrooms. Osip's former home will make way to Sam Lomas's Briar in September.

Mary's

Pollen Street Social is set to become Mary's after a refurb following its final service at the end of July. A tribute to the American diner that frequented the bar to enjoy a steak and martini, the new name and concept marks a return to more affordable roots. Heading up the kitchen will be Alex Parker, of Social Eating House, which also closes at the end of July following a sale to vegan restaurant Mildred’s.

Starling

Great British Menu star Nick Beardshaw is set to open his debut restaurant Starling in Esher at the end of August. Following on from his success on the show, the menu will feature his winning starter ‘a moon shaped pool’ and his ‘balloon girl’ dessert.

Fonda

Santiago Lastra of Mexican fine dining restaurant Kol will open his second restaurant Fonda later this year. Located on Heddon Street in Mayfair, the focus will be on traditional, regionally specific dishes from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific coast in an informal setting.

Blacklock Manchester

Ex-Lawyer Gordon Ker will be opening the sixth site of his mini chophouse empire in Manchester. Located in the basement of a former textile warehouse on Peter Street the new restaurant will join the five sites across London serving up sustainably sourced british meats and generously portioned white chocoloate cheesecake with their famously good value pricing and great service.

Undercroft

Mayfair will welcome another esteemed restaurant this month when Undercroft opens its doors. Brad Carter and his wife Holly will bring years of experience from the Exceptional Carters of Moseley to open their latest restaurant, and their first in London. The menu hopes to revive lost British classics with Brad’s fun and accessible approach to fine dining.

Finsbury Park is now home to Tollington’s, a refurbished chip shop transformed into an Iberian inspired fish bar. This is the second site from Four Legs and much like their first venue, Good-rated The Plimsoll, it will retain a lot of the original features from the fish and chip shop.

Henri

Jackson Boxer continues his winning streak of restaurants with Henri at Covent Garden’s Henrietta Hotel. It’s the chef’s second collaboration with the Experimental Group after Cowley Manor in the Cotswolds and joins Jackson Boxer at The Corner in London’s Selfridges as well as his two flagship restaurants Brunswick House and Orasay.
