From the golden beaches and rugged bays of the Tyne and Wear north coast to Northumberland’s dramatic cliffs, medieval castles, puffin colonies and picturesque fishing villages, this stretch of shoreline offers some of the most breathtaking views in the country. The route runs for almost 80 miles, from Tynemouth in the south to Berwick-upon-Tweed in the north.
