Summer is coming, and with it that British determination to eat outdoors in all weathers. But the elements do sometimes intervene, so it’s good to have some ‘nearly outside’ eating options up your sleeve…
In 2022 we celebrate The Ubiquitous Chip’s fifty years of entry in The Good Food Guide – it is one of our longest serving restaurants. The Chip has been credited with changing the way Glaswegians eat - by buying (the then unfashionable) local produce, serving it simply and offering value for money across the board.
Named The Good Food Guide’s newcomer of the year in 1988, Tessa Bramley has featured in every edition since (with a Michelin star awarded in 1998) and is considered a bit of a legend. A country cook rooted in tradition, time has been powerless to dim her diligence or enthusiasm in offering fiercely seasonal cooking that still feels current and fresh.
