Make way for Bar Shrimp
The team behind top Manchester spots Higher Ground and Flawd, as well as market garden, Cinderwood, have announced they have a new opening on the way this winter in the form of Bar Shrimp. Founders Daniel Craig Martin, Joseph Otway, and Richard Cossins announced the news on Cerys Matthews' BBC Radio 6 Music show at the weekend, in keeping with the trio's vision for Bar Shrimp as a place ‘where drinks, seafood and sound are seamlessly connected’.
Top chefs on the move
The group behind London pubs The Pelican and The Hero has announced that Sally Abé will join them as head of food at their Cotswold pub The Bull Charlbury. In Chester, Bryan Webb of Tyddyn Llan fame is coming out of retirement for a three-month residency at Covino from 3rd April until Saturday 28th June. In Margate, Will Gleave (ex-Bright, P Franco, Peg) has joined Sargasso as chef patron alongside owners Ed Wilson and Josie Stead, who also own Brawn on Columbia Road.
