Argyll & Bute, Tighnabruaich - Café

A gem on the beautiful Cowal Peninsula, this little hatch of a café is where locals are greeted by name and visitors are welcomed just as warmly. For a morning treat, try a freshly baked cinnamon bun – iced or not, you choose – alongside a well-made flat white featuring beans from Argyll Coffee Roasters, roughly 10 metres away. The local coastguard and fire station are nearby, so a working lunch might consist of soup and a filled roll, or chilli and cornbread on special occasions. They sell local kombucha and honey too, as well as homemade cakes for an afternoon pick-me-up. Seating is alfresco, but there are a couple of sheltered tables if the weather’s not playing ball.
