Bristol - Korean - Café

Chef Wizzy Chung’s sequel to Sky Kong Kong is every bit as quirky and mind-bogglingly good value as its predecessor. Tucked away on a trading estate off Gloucester Road, this former lock-up is an Aladdin’s cave of Korean cuisine, shelves groaning with homemade ingredients fermenting in jars. Pull up a mismatched chair at one of the communal tables to enjoy Wizzy’s personal take on 'bapsang' (home cooking). With 100 ingredients in every meal (she claims), your artfully presented platter might include piquant nuggets of Korean fried chicken, a generous selection of hand-rolled gimbap and traditional banchan (side dishes). Bring your own drinks if you’re not happy with tap water, and don’t expect pudding. Note: takeaways only after 5pm.
