In a sultrily low-lit, split-level dining space, the menu majors on charcoal-grilled offerings, including quality steak-and-sauce combinations, with a range of smart snacks to set the ball rolling. Beetroot-cured salmon is vibrantly violet, accompanied by a bracing tangle of celeriac rémoulade, while a main-course serving of grilled venison haunch comes bathed in baba ganoush and daubed with oddly minty chimichurri. To finish, an appealing hillock of tiramisu, ribboned in coffee syrup, makes a richly satisfying finish. An enterprising wine list has some imaginative selections, with standard glasses from £7.50.
