With Christmas bills looming, January can seem a very grey month. The good news is that you can still eat out well without breaking the bank. Here are some top restaurants offering three-course lunches for £30 or less. Surely that’s reason enough to celebrate?
Recently, Sheffield has been enjoying a well-deserved moment in the spotlight with the success of the musical Standing at the Sky’s Edge, a love song to the steel city with music and lyrics by Sheffield singer-songwriter Richard Hawley. Following a short London run at the National Theatre earlier this year, it will open in the West End in February 2024. But Sheffielders have long known what a cool place their city is - for music, art and, importantly, food.
So, how was dry January for you? Did you count down the days and hours to midnight of the 31st, or did you find it a brightening start to the year? Maybe – dare we say – you’ve seamlessly continued the habit into February, and discovered new favourite restaurants that serve cracking alternatives to wine, beer and spirits.
Whether you fancy a midday splurge or a bite to eat at a local favourite, The Good Food Guide has got your back. The menus may be shorter, but the quality of the ingredients, the skill of the chefs, and the charm of the service doesn’t change whether you eat at 1pm or 8pm.
