Greater Manchester, Altrincham - Chinese - Pub

Launched by a team of Hong Kongers with an abiding passion for craft beer, Harcourt pairs a 14-strong tap list with the specialities of home. A plain unit, it feels more bar than pub, but with measures from one-third of a pint and a roll call of UK brewstars (Cloudwater, Rivington, Azvex, Left Handed Giant) plus their own collaborations on the board, there's plenty to explore. That goes for the food, too: chips, tofu or chicken wings done 'typhoon shelter' style with the showering of crunchy, garlicky crumbs takes its cue from Hong Kong's old fishing communities, while rich signature rice gratins with coconut curry chicken, or a salt-and-pepper pork chop served with a fried egg, crispy garlic and chilli-spiked rice also hit the spot.
