Groobarbs Field Kitchen

Cheshire, High Legh - Modern British - Restaurant

Wander around Groobarb's market garden in the lush Cheshire countryside before or after your field-to-fork meal (weather permitting, natch, though wellies are available) and see your food growing before your very eyes. Housed in a large, modern-rustic barn, the restaurant has limited opening times and a single serving (which may impact on the quality of some dishes) but it’s hugely popular and you may have to share a refectory table with other guests – although there's plenty of room and the family-friendly atmosphere is relaxed and convivial. The set menu is largely vegetable-focused and depends on what’s in season, though an optional main course might be a serving of roast local beef (cooked rare). Booking essential, especially when there’s live music.
