Helmsley-born Tommy Souter started his cheffing career at Andrew Pern's The Star Inn and with his wife Bridget has created one of Harrogate's most appealing daytime dining spots. Brunch and lunch dishes are globetrotting in flavour but rooted in the seasons and are alrways beautifully and freshly prepared.

Warm friendly welcome to a beautifully thoughtful and designed eating area, with an open kitchen that focuses on locally sourced and wherever possible its own produce from its sourdough to its pickles. Wonderful ingredients cooked with the utmost care and flair, beautifully presented, utterly delicious and fulsome servings. We ate the most delicious brunch from the seasonal menu with fabulous coffee that kept us going well into the day, with cinnamon and pecan pastries for later. I could not rec...

I could not recommend this restaurant enough and will return whenever I am back in Harrogate.

There is always a very warm, happy welcome into a beautiful, relaxed and sunny space. The food is gorgeous and there is something for every occasion from a quick coffee or wine and cake to a hearty brunch using fine local seasonal ingredients. The fact that everything including the delicious cakes and bread are prepared on site by the chef I can see at work adds something special. I always leave with a satisfied smile on my face!

Honestly? Perfection. Incredible seasonal menu with a lovely chef - honestly a great chap. The rest of the team are great too. Not pretentious, just perfect.

Ginkgo is the kind of neighbourhood café every community hopes for but rarely finds. The food is consistently exceptional, beautifully prepared and genuinely delicious every single time. What sets Ginkgo apart is the atmosphere created by the owners and staff. They are so friendly and welcoming, making each visit feel personal rather than transactional. It’s a place where quality, care, and community come together effortlessly. A true 10/10 local gem!
