Formerly the Bicycle Bakery, this artisan sourdough specialist and 20-seat café is beloved of Tunbridge Wells locals. Expect a steady stream of aficionados lining up for loaves of bread and top picks from the daily selection of viennoiserie and patisserie (the craquelin-topped choux bun bursting with boozy Baileys cream is absolutely divine), while others settle in for savoury muffins, Kejriwal eggs with spicy cheese on toast or the full ‘Bakery breakfast’ fry-up. At lunchtime, there’s a choice of ‘sandos’ – perhaps pulled pork and slaw or the more substantial porchetta with Taleggio, mojo verde, fried egg and shokupan (Japanese milk bread). Excellent coffee too.
