Event details

In conversation with Jay Rayner: Recipes and stories from a restaurant critic's life

For our next 'In conversation with' event, Good Food Guide owner Adam Hyman will sit down with award-winning restaurant critic and broadcaster Jay Rayner to talk about his new book, Nights Out in the Kitchen. The follow-up to his bestselling Nights Out at Home, the book features an irresistible combination of the restaurant dishes Jay has fallen for as a critic plus 20 of his own family favourites, all seasoned with his trademark wit and passion.

Over coffee and pastries in the intimate setting of Richard Corrigan's Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill, the conversation will journey from Jay's life in the restaurant critic's chair through to his own kitchen: bringing restaurant dishes home with the blessing of the chefs who inspired them, the challenge of describing flavour without resorting to 'mouth-watering', and much more.
