Great British Menu's 'Champion of Champions' in 2021, Dan McGeorge is to open a 26-cover fine dining restaurant on Hope Street in his hometown of Liverpool later this spring. The chef stepped down from his head chef role at Rothay Manor in the Lakes last October in advance of working on his own restaurant plans with partner Georgia Goodman. The opening menus will comprise a five-course lunch at £85 and a seven-course dinner at £105

Mere to close

After seven years running their restaurant on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia, Monica and David Galetti have announced they will close Mere after a final service on 16th April. Sven-Hanson Britt, the chef who previously ran his own restaurant Oxeye, has been in place as head chef since September last year.

Kindling reopens in Brighton

A new chapter at Kindling begins this week with the reopening of the space as a steak restaurant. With a new team, led by head chef Ewan Cullen, the short menu will focus on high quality, locally sourced meat cooked over charcoal. Holly Taylor and Toby Geneen who established an excellent reputation for their small plates offering ceased trading in October 2023 due to rising costs.
