It’s all change at this delightful spot. The owners of Vanora Bakery decided to call a halt to their bread-making activities and concentrate all their efforts on the Tartine Lounge – a charming French-style bistro with a cute little bar attached (formerly the shop). Sliding doors lead into a pleasing room, with white metro tiles, bentwood chairs and white linen runners adding to the bistro vibe. The menu is short and ever-changing – from gorgeous slabs of chicken liver pâté to fish quenelles in lobster sauce, roast poussin with sage or beef short rib with pomme purée. It’s all backed by a short, serviceable wine list. Outstanding value.
