Kitty Fisher's head chef George Barson will oversee new sister restaurant Cora Pearl

A second restaurant from the Kitty Fisher's team, Oldroyd goes meat-free and debut solo venture for ex-Tamarind head chef Peter Joseph

 

Second opening from the team behind Kitty Fisher’s

The second restaurant from the team behind Kitty Fisher’s will open in Covent Garden this June. Named after a celebrated British-born courtesan, Cora Pearl will draw its influences from Britain and France, with a kitchen led by Kitty Fisher’s head chef George Barson, who will continue to head up both sites as executive chef. Dishes will include confit pork belly with smoked quince; brill and devilled crab, and coffee and cardamom cake with milk sorbet.

 

Tom Oldroyd launches meat-free menu at his Islington restaurant

Chef and restaurateur Tom Oldroyd is launching ‘Meat Free Mondays’ at his Upper Street eatery. From April 30, Oldroyd will serve a menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes at both lunch and dinner on Mondays.  Highlights include beetroot tarte fine with whipped goat’s curd and hazelnut praline; truffled egg yolk ravioli and Jerusalem artichoke velouté, and an Italian-inspired fritto misto di verdure with courgette flowers, Violetta artichokes and wild garlic.

 

New London restaurant from the owners of Chewton Glen 

Iconic Luxury Hotels, the owner of Chewton Glen, is opening a new restaurant at 11 Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea. Offering an all-day seasonal menu, the kitchen at Hans’ Bar & Grill will be headed up by chef Adam England, formerly of Le Pont de la Tour. The restaurant’s general manager is Simon Smith, who was previously at Berners Tavern and Hakkasan.

 

Former Tamarind chef Peter Joseph to open first solo venture

Peter Joseph, who headed up the kitchens at Mayfair Indian Tamarind for a decade, is opening his first solo restaurant this summer in Chelsea’s Wilbraham Place. Kahani will serve contemporary Indian food using seasonal British produce and diners will be encouraged to eat with their fingers. Dishes on the opening menu will include golden beets tiki; masala grilled avocado; tandoori calamari, and rabbit kebabs.

 

Ex-Black Swan chef to open new restaurant and craft ale bar

Ryan Darley, the former sous chef at The Black Swan at Oldstead in the Yorkshire Dales, is opening a new 100-cover restaurant and craft ale bar in a former delicatessen. A collaboration with his father, Over There will open in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, this summer.
