Valentine's Restaurants with Rooms

Tipple for two at Bistrot Bruno Loubet, ClerkenwellIf you want love to be in the air this Valentine’s Day, forget about catching that last bus home or standing in the rain waiting for a cab – it’s much better if you can just take a short walk to bed once you’ve dined in style with your loved one, so here’s our pick of restaurants with rooms...

Rochelle Venables, Managing Editor of The Good Food Guide, can’t resist The Feversham Arms Hotel in North Yorkshire, saying ‘Here you can combine fresh and contemporary food with luxurious rooms and an indulgent spa – romance doesn’t get much better than that.’

Or why not try bewitching restaurant-with-rooms The Vine House in Northamptonshire, it’s ‘sheer bliss’ from the moment you walk into this lovely old farmhouse with its personal touches and intensely seasonal food.

The Hand & FlowersThe Great House in Suffolk is another winner for food and rooms, combining timber-framed bedrooms that ooze medieval charm with a kitchen that produces contempary twists on Gallic cuisine.

For the perfect private retreat, head to chef Tom Kerridge's pub The Hand & Flowers (right) in Buckinghamshire. Described by the Guide as 'an endearing venue with alluring menus', this Buckinghamshire inn has four luxury cottages available, mere yards from the pub.

For an atmospheric hideaway beneath the ramparts of a castle, head to longstanding restaurant-with-rooms, Mr Underhill's, which has been seducing visitors with its 'hands-on excellence' and bespoke, eight-course menu for years.

If you are in the capital let the clever cooking at Bistro Bruno Loubet (top image) impress – follow a smart and slick meal with a sleek and contemporary room at the Zetter Hotel or Townhouse.

Alternatively try Boundary in Shoreditch, once a Victorian warehouse but now a boutique hotel with 'simple cooking that lets ingredients shine.' Or if you're going all-out, indulge in the 'powerfully impressive' cuisine at Hélène Darroze at the Connaught, and follow with a night of luxury in the 5 star hotel.
